Description
The scientific name of the guinea hen weed isPetiveria alliacea. The plant is indigenous to the Caribbean, the Amazon rainforest, Central and South America, and Africa. It also goes by other names, including a tipi, mucura, apacin, guinea, and anamu.
Guinea Hen Weed 's leaves and especially its roots are known for their strong garlic-like odor, which comes from the shrub's chemical components, mainly sulfur compounds.
How to prepare:
5-7 leaves can be used in 1 cup of hot water and steeped for 5, 7, 9, or 13 minutes in a sealed or covered container, depending on your desired potency.
